The PPE market 2001-2012
The European PPE market value in the decade 2001-2012 has been characterized by steady growth of 1, 94% annually, reaching in 2011 the level of € 10.9 billion.
The positive trend is mainly due to reasons:
- The growing of European law and controls which imposes the use of PPE
- lThe economic and industrial growth in some European countries of the east of Europe such as Poland, Hungary and Romania
- Finally, the increase of the prices.
PPE families that have been importan increases in their market shares are:
- Fall protection harnesses increased from 2.7% in 2001 to 3.0% in 2011
- respiratory protection has increased from 4.4% in 2001 to 4.8% in 2011.
The protection of the eyes, ears and feet are essentially flat, for the protection of the head, hands and clothes.
